MAA 102 Medical Transcription

This course includes a unique combination of authentic physician dictation, coordinated readings and exercises by medical specialty, and supplementary information vital to every medical transcriptionist. Dictated reports, including chart notes, consultations, history and physical examinations, emergency room reports, and procedure notes are transcribed using word processing software and state-of-the-art transcription equipment. Student must receive a grade of C or better and obtain a keyboarding speed of 45 wpm to progress to MAA 203. Pre- or co-requisite: OFC 214, MAA 101, and OFC 120 (formerly OFC 14, MAA 70, and OFC 20) with a grade of C or better or permission of the instructor. Three class hours a week. Instructional Support Fee applies.  Fall.
