CIT 162 Applied Help Desk Support

This course allows students to apply the skills learned in computer information systems courses by working as a volunteer lab assistant. Students gain experience in troubleshooting software and hardware problems, dealing with people in a help desk/lab setting, and sharing knowledge gained in computer courses. Prerequisite: CIS 102, CIT 160, CIS 121 (formerly CIS 15, CIT 21, CIS 53), or permission of the instructor. Pre- or co-requisite: CIS 160, CIT 161 (formerly CIS 24, CIT 22), or permission of the instructor. One class meeting per week and six hours a week assisting in a computer lab. Instructional Support Fee applies. Competency met: Technical Literacy (8.0) 3 credits. Spring.
